I’m Back

January 19, 2010 · Leave a Comment

After a longggg while away from ya, I’m back by first giving you some stuff you may have missed in the last month or so I’ve been away. Hope everyone’s holiday season went well. As far as mixtapes go, Lupe Fiasco released Enemy of the State back in November. Here’s my favorite track from the tape called popular demand

The mixtape has a couple remixes to Jay-Z tracks, and a great remix to Radiohead’s Kid A jam National Anthem and Slaughterhouse’s The one. Grab it on Datpiff here. Another one to get is Wiz Khalifa’s Burn after rolling. Which you can get here. My jam from the tape is Knock U Down which I got for ya below.

And for all those people who still pay for music, some stuff to buy would be Eminem’s Relapse Refill, and what I’ve been listening to on repeat which is the collaboration of The black keys and several rap artists in a group/album entitled Blakroc which you can buy here. I’m gunna put a couple of the tracks below to give you a taste because if you like these two, I’d HIGHLY recommend buying this album.

Blakroc – Hope Your Happy (Feat. Billy Danze, Nicole Wray & Q-Tip)

YES! Another Blakroc project track, I’m real impressed so far. Being a big fan of The Black Keys and Hip-Hop in general the announcement of this project made my pants shift. This track is along the same Rootsish style of Hoochie Hoo (click for post and download), definately a great track. Shouts to TCO for the drop.

The Black Keys – Hoochie Coo (feat. Jim Jones & Mos Def)

October 20, 2009 · 1 Comment

images-1The Black Keys are a Blues/Rock duo out of Akron, Ohio who annouced Sept. 14 that they’re releasing a Blakroc Hip Hop Project. The first song from the project was released a day later. I was lucky enough to see the Keys in concert, and I dunno if any duo can rock out as hard as they do. “Hoochie Coo” features Jim Jones on the verses, and Mos Def on the vocals. Check out their website here. I’m real late on the track but its a great listen, be on the look out for Blakroc Nov. 27.
